Bala from Wallajah has a great passion for pigeons, he races the birds for his friend Mario Sladen who lives in the UK. Mario was a champion in the Arokonam club for many years. Their love for pigeons is so great that most of their day is either at work on on whatsapp video calls planning their races.

DIGP CRPF, a pigeon enthusiast who despite his busy schedule finds time to spend on his favourite past time, Pigeons. He loves to chat about pigeons over a cup of tea with fellow enthusiasts.

Famed movie director and winner of many national movie awards. His passion for this sport in only surpassed by his love for making movies. He finds great peace amongst his feathered friends. A champion and competitive enthusiast he won the 2019 Ongole open, a sprint and middle distance championship in Kings RPS club.

Anand from Mylapore is a 3^rd generation silversmith working bespoke silver jobs for large jewel retailers. His is this sport for over 11 years. His biggest support for this hobby is aged mother who is also his loft manager. He was the overall champion for CROWN Pigeon club for the year 2021.

Mani, as he is fondly called at the club is an Assistant General Manager in Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd R&D centre, Chennai while Suresh his partner in the sport is a successful business man dealing in the fresh sea food supply business. They have been flying pigeons competetivly since 2015 but have had pigeons for over 30yrs. This team have been NHPA club champions for the 2017-18 season and runners up champions in the 2020-21 season.

Participates as Sundar Ashwin, Birdman loft, ECR, is the father of national and international race car driver Ashwin Sundar. He is just 18 months in pigeon sports – his childhood dream. In his very first year of racing he has finished 3rd in 2 races in Ind-Pigeon society. Passion is his key motivator; though aged over 60 he is as eager as a novice, learning from the leaders and observing  them.

Aka Vikki, is a business man with transport vehicles having a deep passion for pigeons from a very young age and a second generation pigeon fancier. His achievements include-  4 times champions in clubsand multiple times champion in INDpigeon open races

A very succesful business man from Sriperumbuthur in various transport sectors is a pigeon lover from his childhood and has been competing for the last 15 years. ‘I am in this sports, its a great stress buster and a place where I find my peace’ is his favourite line and advice to young fanciers.

Aged 43 yrs works as a manager in a leading Shipping company in Chennai. His love for the sport as a kid growing up in Perambur was fulfilled once he took it up on his own in 2017. He was the 2^nd. Runner up Champion in SBS club for 2021.

He is one of the premier breeders of Doberman and other guard dogs in the state. His love for pigeons stems from his love for all pets. Since a kid he has always kept pigeons and has been competing since 2014. He says, “Since childhood pigeon racing is in my blood, one of my neighbour had pigeons and I used to spends hours after school looking at them.”

A pigeon lover from childhood he started participating competitively in 2017. He works for a large MNC as a Data Engineering and Analysis professional. He considers his greatest achievement is completing the Warrangal 550 kms race on-day. He keeps pigeon as it is his long time dream to participate in the pigeon sport as it gives him a feeling of clearing his mind and great relaxation.

Arun Balu from T.Nagar works for a Japan based MNC- for the Eye Wear Industry.

“I have been into pigeon sports since 2019,” he says, ”This sport has helped me to de-stress after work. I am currently involved with IND-Pigeon Society, Chennai. It is one of the top most competitive club which has champions with multiple prestigious laurels. I feel privileged to be associated such an esteemed club.”

Thirumugam is one of the longstanding champions in the history of pigeon racing in India. He’s a well-known personality and a continuous champion who always likes to innovate. Being a successful businessman and a person who promotes sport, he heads the Tejeshwar sports academy in Velachery, which produces national and state level badminton players. His loft is located in his house and he is ably supported by his family and friends.
