In 2018, IND-PIGEONS society started open events for Racing Homers. The 2018 inaugural race was conducted in coordination with Royal Pigeon Society (RPS); this was the Ongole race covering a distance of about 275 kms. With the participation of about 434 birds this was the first time an Open Category Race of this magnitude was being conducted.
Winners of this open race were the pigeons fielded by Mr Devraj and Vicky, who won the first place. the second and third place positions were won by Mr Kadiravan Vetri Maaran of the VM Lofts.
